Cost of the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train project

JICA, the Japan International Cooperation Agency, would lend Rs 88,087 crore for a 50-year loan with an interest rate of 0.1% and a 15-year repayment moratorium to cover 81% of the project’s costs. The Maharashtra & Gujarat state governments, along with the federal government, would cover the remaining expense.
The development of the Mumbai-Ahmedabad high-speed rail route would get a Tranche 4 Official Development Assistance (ODA) loan from JICA in the amount of Rs 18,750 crore. According to a statement from the company, this is the biggest amount ever pledge under a single project credit agreement in JICA history.
