Provide Tenant Information: On March 8, 2023, the Mumbai police issued a warning to property owners who rent their properties. Property owners are required by the guideline to disclose tenant information on the Mumbai police website.

According to the police, if the tenant is a foreign national, the owner and tenant must also submit extra information, such as the visa number, category, place and date of issue, validity, registration location, and purpose for the tenant’s stay in the city.
Tenant information submission
Mumbai property owners must report tenant information online at www.mumbaipolice.gov.in. Choose “Tenant Information” from the drop-down menu under “Report Us” on the website. You will be directed to a form that must be completed and submitted online. You can view the Mumbai police website in Marathi and English.
The information that must be provided includes information about the property owner, rental property, renter, tenant workplace, and people who know the tenant.
The local police station is another place where property owners can turn in the comprehensive information. Also, individuals have the option of sending the application to the relevant police station by registered mail.
The Mumbai police stated that, in accordance with the preventive order, there may be instances where anti-social groups in particular regions of Mumbai seek refuge in residential areas, disturbing public tranquilly and posing a threat to human life and property damage.
