The conversion of Dev Anand’s Juhu House into a 22-story tower

According to a recent source, the late Bollywood actor Dev Anand’s Juhu home would be raze and replace by a 22-story tower on September 20, 2023. His home was bought by a real estate company for between 350 and 400 crore rupees. The property is in a desirable area with a number of opulent homes belonging to prominent industrialists nearby. Suneil Anand and Devina Anand, along with the late actor’s wife Kalpana Kartik & children, had resided in this bungalow throughout the actor’s entire 40-year life. According to reports, the property is being sold since no one is available to maintain it. While Dev’s daughter resides in Ooty with her mother, his son resides in the US.

The sources also claim that his family has sold some of their other Panvel, Navi Mumbai, properties.

Framed posters from some of the top films at the time were display on the walls of Dev Anand’s house. The preserved photos show Dev Anand’s unwavering devotion to and love of filmmaking today.

The recording studio features a penthouse, or outhouse, that was use by the artist as a private area for reflection, writing, and creative activity.

He frequently could be seen reading and thinking about the stacks of books & screenplays that were arranged in a corner of the room. He had handwritten every page of his memoirs in this location, which he had named “home.”
