The iconic bear factory named London Pilsner in Nerul Navi Mumbai will soon be razed in order to develop Commercial Business Hub. The factory is presently in inactive condition for quite some time now, which was the iconic place once and the complete area was named after this famous beer factory on its initials as, ‘Nerul LP Junction’ over 47 years back.

Even if the new commercial property is going to develop on the plot of the London Pilsner beer factory, the name ‘LP’ will remain as it is. Instead to preserve the history the plaque will be installed at the site permanently to inform the visitors about this iconic place of origin.

The ‘Nerul LP Junction’ is a very busy place and is next to the busy Sion-Panvel road. For that reason, Navi Mumbai-based real estate developer Greenscape Group has purchased this property of nearly about 24,000 sq. meter area from United Breweries Group who is the founder of  London Pilsner.

The original co-owner for London Pilsner beer factor, Zinia Lawyer, said that she has a lot of good memories about the company, which was started by her father in 1973. And it will be a good idea to put some history plaque or a beer bottle-like sculpture near LP Junction to mark the company’s historical presence and let people know why the name is so to the area. She further recalled the days when the famous lawyer politician S K Wankhede (after whom the famous Wankhede stadium is named) had come to inaugurate the factory and how was everything then and now.
