Maha CM Approved Rs 900 Crore for 49 Thane Projects
CM Approved Thane Projects: The 49 projects will be built in three Thane city wards: Majiwada-Manpada, Vartak Nagar, and Lokmanya Nagar.
According to a report, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has approved Rs 900 crore for the implementation of 49 projects in three Thane wards, including Majiwada-Manpada, Vartak Nagar, and Lokmanya Nagar.
Funds from the urban development department will be used for projects such as developing and strengthening alternative water sources in Thane, constructing the Lata Mangeskar music academy, aquarium, and swimming pools, revamping Thane’s gardens, installing musical fountains at Upwan Lake, and constructing community centres and new roads. In collaboration with the Thane municipal commissioner, a road map for project planning and execution will be developed soon.
The MMRDA is also considering building a road through parts of the Sanjay Gandhi National Park (SGNP). The road will begin at Mulund’s Shrinagar off the LBS road and will travel through the Yeour Hills, Indira Nagar, Lokmanya Nagar, the Upwan Lake, Manpada, Dongripada, Anand Nagar, and end at Gaimukh on the Ghodbunder Road.
This road takes nearly 1.5 hours to travel the 20 kilometres between Mumbai and Gaimukh. The road will reduce travel time by ten minutes. It will also relieve traffic congestion on Thane roads and in Mulund, Airoli, Chembur, Palghar, and Gujarat. The project will take two years to complete once it is commission.
