Route of the Vadodara-Mumbai Highway: Important Information

The important points of the Vadodara Mumbai Expressway route are given below:

  • The motorway is intended to have a 120 km/h speed restriction.
  • Boundary walls or fencing on either side to keep domestic animals, cattle, and wildlife out of the motorway.
  • The outer edge of the paved shoulders on both carriageways will have 3 m-wide earthen shoulders.
  • A total of 48 km of service roads will be built where they are required.
  • There will be a closed-type tolling system in place for collecting tolls.
  • The motorway will contain 34 toll booths, two of which will be the primary toll booths and the rest will be on ramps or loops.
  • The highway alignment’s intended Right of Way (ROW) is 100/120 metres.
  • The Hybrid Annuity Model will be used for the construction process.
  • The Expressway will be constructed over a tall dam that is over three metres high.
  • For the 8-lane portion, the Expressway’s median will be 12 metres wide.
  • The median will be depressed type 19.5m for the tiny section of the 6-lane region, taking future growth into account.

Cost of the Vadodara-Mumbai Highway

The Hybrid Annuity Model (HAM), which combines the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) & Build-Operate-Transfer modes, will be used to build the Vadodara-Mumbai Expressway (BOT). In accordance with the achievement of defined milestones, the government will contribute 40% of the cost in installments, and the contractors will arrange for the payment of the remaining 60%.
