What is the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana?

Here’s an example to help you understand:

Assume you are in the MIG-II category (i.e. your total household income is between Rs 12-18 Lakhs). You intend to purchase a property costing Rs 50 lakhs. Your minimum down payment would be 20%, or Rs 10 Lakhs, and the remaining amount of Rs 40 Lakhs would be financed.

MIG-2 category candidates, on the other hand, are entitled for a 3% discount on loans of up to Rs 12 lakhs under PMAY 2022. As a result, you would have to pay the lender a standard (non-subsidized) interest rate on the remaining Rs 28 Lakhs of loan.

 

Subsidy Calculation for Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana

PMAY In-Situ Slum Redevelopment (ISSR)

The In-situ Redevelopment project, in collaboration with private organisations, attempts to rehabilitate slums by giving housing to individuals living in deplorable circumstances, utilising land as a resource.

This plan is for EWS households who are unable to benefit from the previous three schemes (CLSS, ISSR, and AHP). The Central Government is set to provide financial support of up to Rs. 1.5 lakh to such people for either new construction or renovation of an existing dwelling.

  • The Centre would grant unit support in plain areas ranging from Rs 70,000 to Rs 1.20 lakh, and in hilly and geographically problematic areas ranging from Rs 75,000 to Rs 1.30 lakh.

  • Residents of other unredeveloped slums can benefit from this programme if they possess a kutcha or semi-pucca house.
  • The State should implement a mechanism to track building progress using geo-tagged pictures.
