The cost of a four-inch brick has increased from Rs 6,500 per thousand pieces to Rs 8,000 per thousand pieces, and cement bag costs have increased from Rs 260 to Rs 400. Sand costs have climbed from Rs 6,000 to Rs 7,500 per brass, while wash sand costs have gone up from Rs 3,800 to Rs 4,800 per brass. A 30 percent price increase has also been seen in the pricing of various commodities like wires, fittings, tiles, pipelines, sanitaryware, fabrications, minerals, & labour.

The cost of building homes in Mumbai has skyrocketed due to the increase in the costs of the aforementioned basic materials. Homebuyers were hoping for some relief, but there may still be financial strain due to the expected increase in the repo rate and the lack of incentives from the State government.
