National Green Tribunal Stays CIDCO Auction Of Navi Mumbai Plot

CIDCO Auction Of Navi Mumbai : The National Green Tribunal (NGT) continued to halt the auction of the plot even as CIDCO defended the CIDCO e-auction of the Seawoods tender plot 2A by denying any environmental infractions. Gajndra K Jangam, the Marketing Officer (Commercial) for CIDCO, asserted in an affidavit that there is no legal restriction on CIDCO’s ability to advertise the CRZ1 region as a portion of the property for sale.

The Seawoods tender plot 2A that CIDCO put for tender for residential and commercial development comes under CRZ I and ll, according to an affidavit filed by the Maharashtra Coastal Zone Management Authority (MCZMA), which has now joined the NGT. According to an HT article, MCZMA stated that it had not received any requests for CRZ approval and had not authorised CIDCO to put the aforementioned property up for sale. The following hearing in this matter is slated on December 20, 2022.
