CIDCO: Notices sent to 529 illegal Navi Mumbai projects

The City and Industrial Development Corporation (Cidco) has issued a list of 529 unlawful developments in Navi Mumbai in an effort to discourage individuals from funding illegal enterprises.

225 projects are under the Panvel Municipal Corporation (PMC) and Uran, whereas 277 projects are under the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC).

CIDCO holds a housing lottery each year in order to connect interested parties with affordable housing. Homes under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) in the LIG, MIG, and EWS categories are also distribute through the CIDCO housing lottery. In the past, the PMAY distributed a variety of housing alternatives in Kharghar and Dronagiri. Soon, new programmes will be unveiled to distribute homes under the PMAY.

In Ulwe, CIDCO distributed 7,849 homes as part of the Mahagrihnirman Yojana in February 2023.

Around 5000 houses will be given away by CIDCO as a part of the lottery for the year 2022 during Ganesh Utsav. According to reports, these CIDCO residences would be accessible in Mansarovar, Juinagar, and Vashi.

According to an FPJ report. SBI has provided CIDCO with a credit of Rs 5,000 crore at a rate of 6% for CIDCO’s Mega housing project under the Prime Minister Awas Yojana (PMAY). There are 1,12,500 homes in the three stages of the CIDCO Mega housing project. Phases 1 and 2 each have 23,500 homes, while Phase 3 adds another 22,000 homes. The PMAY programme reserves 35% for EWS and 15% for LIG. The rest of the apartments are up for open bidding.

According to information provided by CIDCO on the project’s progress. Phase 1 of the Mega Housing Scheme is finish, phase II construction is ongoing, and phase will shortly begin.

Mumbai Road that connects the harbours

The Mumbai Trans-Harbour Link (MTHL). Which has been suggested, was design with the goal of reducing congestion and enhancing connectivity between Mumbai and Navi Mumbai. The 22 km long, six lane connecting road will have a 16.5 km long sea bridge and a 5.5 km long land viaduct on either side.

An approximately 8.3-km-long coastal road between Navghar and Chanje has been develope in order to provide easy communication between Jawaharlal Nehru Port and other regions of Navi Mumbai and Mumbai.
