CIDCO is looking forwards to start the Navi Mumbai Metro line Phase I in operation by the end of this year. There are a total of 11 stations in Phase I but CIDCO is planning to start only 5 stations for now in December 2021. CIDCO officials said that they are expecting to start commercial services between Kharghar Central Park to Pendhar, Taloja. However the remaining stations under phase I will start in the year 2022.

Navi Mumbai metro line was always a talked about subject from the time it had been announced by CIDCO. And people from Kharghar and Taloja were eagerly waiting for the metro line services to start for many years and this announcement by CIDCO will be a great relief for people from Taloja.

The metro project was getting delayed for various reasons, and Now CIDCO has appointed Maha Metro to take the work at a faster pace. Maha Metro has already deployed a dedicated team of 20 engineers for ground-level works. And CIDCO has reportedly allocated special office space for the Maha Metro officials at Taloja.

Last week, officials from CIDCO and Maha Metro visited the site and examined the present status of the Navi Mumbai Metro line project.

CIDCO has officially released a press note stating,

CIDCO has conducted trial runs of Line 1, measuring 11.1 km of the metro line which was successful.

With this bigs news, it is expected that this metro line will hopefully revamp the Navi Mumbai’s transport system.

More About Navi Mumbai Metro Line

Navi Mumbai Metro is a new public transport system that is a new mass rapid transit railways project under construction by the Maharashtra state government. CIDCO which is a local government authority in Navi Mumbai is currently undertaking this project,  to meet the commercial, industrial and residential needs of the metropolis of Navi Mumbai Area.

The master plan of the project was designed by  Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) in Nov 2009. There will be a total of 117.3km railway line to be built under this project under different phases connecting several different suburbs of Navi Mumbai. There will be six elevated railway corridors to be built under this Navi Mumbai metro line project. This Metro line project in Navi Mumbai is supposed to serve 35,000 passengers in each direction during peak hours.

Navi Mumbai Metro’s fare structure and prices have not been announced yet by CIDCO.  CIDCO plans to use the latest technologies for its automatic fare collection system to allow QR codes.
